KMC's 1-0 defeat yesterday has officially ended their hopes of remaining in the NBC Premier League for the 2026/27 season.
The result confirms that KMC will compete in the Championship League next season, despite still having four matches left to play.
After 26 matches, KMC have collected only nine points. Even if they win all four of their remaining fixtures, they would finish with a maximum of 21 points.
That total would still leave them behind Mbeya City, who currently occupy 14th place with 22 points, making it mathematically impossible for KMC to escape relegation.
Tanzania Prisons, who sit in 15th place with 20 points, remain in the battle to avoid joining KMC in the Championship League next season.
KMC's relegation marks a disappointing campaign for the club, which has struggled throughout the season and now faces the challenge of rebuilding ahead of life in the second tier.
