Kenyan striker Elvis Rupia is reportedly in the final stages of negotiations to rejoin his former club Kenya Police FC, as the club continues efforts to strengthen its squad during the ongoing season.
Sources from Kenya indicate that the former league champions have identified Rupia as a top priority in the transfer window, believing he can add significant firepower to their attacking line.
However, Kenya Police FC are not alone in the race, as another Kenyan giant, AFC Leopards, are also said to be closely monitoring the striker, increasing competition for his signature.
The urgency from Kenya Police FC is partly driven by the expected departure of their current forward Yves Koutiam, who is linked with a move to Tanzania’s Yanga SC. Koutiam, who joined Police FC in January 2026 from USFA Ouagadougou, has been a key player, scoring 10 goals in the 2025–2026 Kenyan Premier League season.
Rupia has a long and impressive history in East African football. During his 2022–2023 spell at Police FC, he delivered outstanding performances, scoring 27 league goals and breaking a record that had stood for over four decades.
In his first stint after moving to Tanzania, Rupia faced adaptation challenges but later found stability at Singida Fountain Gate, where he scored six goals in total that season.
The 2024–2025 season proved more productive, as he registered 12 goal contributions, scoring 10 goals and providing two assists, making him one of the key performers for his side.
However, the 2025–2026 campaign has been more difficult, with the striker scoring three goals so far, including a crucial equaliser in a 1–1 draw against Mashujaa FC in April 2026.
Current reports suggest that Rupia is no longer part of Singida Black Stars’ squad after both parties mutually agreed to terminate his contract, leaving him free to decide his next destination.
