Yanga right-back Israel Mwenda could be set for a return to Singida Black Stars after reports indicated that he has already reached an agreement with his former club ahead of the new season.
Mwenda is among the players whose contracts with Yanga are expected to expire at the end of the current campaign. However, there are currently no signs that the club has opened talks to extend his stay, creating an opportunity for him to explore a new challenge.
According to reports, Singida Black Stars have shown strong interest in re-signing the defender, who previously impressed during his time at the club before joining Yanga. It is understood that both parties have already reached a mutual agreement to work together again.
During his two-season spell at Yanga, Mwenda has contributed to the team’s success, although his time has been affected by recurring injuries that have caused him to miss several important matches, especially towards the end of the season.
In addition to injury setbacks, increased competition within the squad has limited his playing time. The rise of Yao Kouassi, known as “Jeshi,” along with the presence of Kibwana Shomari, has seen the technical bench favor the two players in recent matches.
