Norway and Morocco played out a 1-1 draw in an international friendly match as part of their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The game was highly competitive, featuring two teams expected to make strong impressions at the tournament.
Morocco started brightly and took an early lead in the 8th minute through Brahim Díaz, who finished off a well-crafted move involving Abde Ezzalzouli. The goal gave Morocco control of much of the first half, while Norway looked for ways to respond through quick attacking transitions.
In the second half, Norway increased the pressure and eventually found an equaliser in the 75th minute through captain Martin Ødegaard, who capitalised on a well-worked attacking move that broke down Morocco’s defensive structure.
The match was played at a high intensity, but Morocco were dealt a setback after key players Noussair Mazraoui and Abde Ezzalzouli were forced off due to injuries before halftime, raising concerns ahead of the World Cup.
Norway also impressed with their tactical discipline and improved control after the break, dominating possession and creating several chances, although they were unable to find a winning goal.
