Elie Mpanzu continued his fine form in the NBC Premier League after scoring the only goal as Simba defeated Mbeya City 1-0 in a match played at Sokoine Stadium.
Despite playing under intense heat, Steve Barker’s men dominated much of the match and created more scoring opportunities than their opponents.
Once again, Clatous Chama showcased his creativity by providing the assist for Mpanzu’s well-taken goal, which came after the striker escaped Mbeya City defenders who had momentarily appealed for offside.
The result was crucial for Simba, as the three points now lift them to the top of the league standings with 64 points.
Mpanzu has now scored six goals this season, while Chama has registered his seventh assist of the campaign.
