The Tanzanian club Simba SC has reportedly entered discussions to sign TP Mazembe captain and defender Madou Zon (27) as part of efforts to strengthen their defensive line ahead of the new domestic and international season.
According to reports, Simba SC have shown strong interest in bringing in the DR Congo star, who is currently one of the most talked-about defenders in the Congolese league.
Zon has been in excellent form this season, where he was named MVP of the first round of the DR Congo league and still has a strong chance of winning the overall season MVP award due to his consistent performances.
His defensive strength, leadership ability, and experience in high-profile matches have attracted interest from several clubs across Africa.
Simba SC head coach Steve Barker is reportedly urging the club’s management to complete the deal quickly, believing Zon could become a key defensive pillar and an important asset in CAF competitions.
Despite strong performances from Ismail Touré alongside Rushine De Reuck, Zon’s potential arrival would further increase Barker’s options in a crucial area of the pitch.
The DR Congo giants TP Mazembe are yet to respond officially to the reported transfer interest.
