"From today, Declan Rice is my vice-captain," Tuchel said, expressing strong confidence in the midfielder, who has been one of England’s most important players in recent years.
The decision comes after Rice delivered an impressive season with Arsenal, continuing to establish himself as one of the best midfielders in Europe. Beyond his performances, he has also shown leadership qualities, composure, and the ability to motivate his teammates both on and off the pitch.
In the recently concluded season, the midfielder contributed directly to 16 goals through goals and assists, while remaining a key figure in Arsenal’s midfield and the England national team setup.
Since making his England debut, Rice has been one of the most trusted players due to his ability to shield the defence, initiate attacks, and control the tempo of matches. His responsibilities will now increase following his appointment as one of the senior leaders in the squad.
